Assembly 01 — Orange/Blue

A modular face, assembled sphere by sphere and fired as one. The surface is a crystal glaze — a gloss base carrying chips of glass frit that bloom open in the kiln and run down the form. Where a chip happens to sit is where it blooms, so the pattern belongs to the firing rather than to the hand. Navy glasses and a squared nose, on a red foot.
1 of 1. Assembly pieces are numbered by form, and more than one piece can carry a number — but a glaze combination is used only once per number. This exact pairing of Assembly 01 and this surface will not be made again. A commissioned Assembly 01 will be its own combination.
