About

Kazan Studio is the ceramic practice of Kevork Kazanjian, based in Los Angeles.

The work began at a wheel throwing class and quickly became a daily practice — hours spent building, carving, and studying form through clay. What started as curiosity turned into discipline. Every piece is shaped by hand, fired, and finished in the studio.

The focus is geometric and sculptural — objects that hold tension between precision and the material's refusal to cooperate. Clay warps. Glaze shifts. The kiln decides. Rather than discard what doesn't go to plan, the studio keeps and shows those pieces alongside the ones that do. Both are part of the work.

The practice is young and still evolving. New techniques, new forms, new failures — all of it deliberate, all of it moving forward.
